Now, due to saber-rattling in the U.S. and North Korea and the very real threat of a nuclear exchange, the film is being re-released as a high-definition movie file, which is being offered free to relevant nonprofits and activists. Judy Irving, the producer/director/narrator of the film, is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences based in San Francisco and will be giving a talk at the screening. The plutonium contaminated site, once called a “death factory,” will soon open to the public – UNLESS citizens stop it. The Half-Life of Memory is directed by Jeff Gipe.
