Nice guys don’t finish last, though we may have been told otherwise in our youth. I am amazed that people think that sensitivity and workplace training will really help or are needed. If you were brought up correctly, care about others, and have moral character, you will function correctly in the workplace. If you are basically a nice person you will work well with others.
The latest round of accusations may be telling us that there is possibly a significant number of government workers and elected officials that basically are not nice people. This may or may not affect their work performance, but it certainly affects their interpersonal relationships and calls into question their ability to work effectively for the public good. If these people are not concerned about the feelings of their co-workers and subordinates, do they really care about us when doing, or not doing their job?
