Marking World War I in style

RRCC marks a century since America's entry to the war

To mark the 100th anniversary of the United States' entry to the first World War, Red Rocks Community College hosted a campus-wide experiential learning day on April 6. The event featured staff and students dressed up in period-appropriate garb, lectures, vaudeville performance and speak easy.

"World War I is often glossed over by people, and so we wanted to bring a global perspective to our students," said Linnie Pawlek, Red Rocks' lead history instructor. "I hope students come away with a better understanding of the decisions made at the time, and how they're still impacting the world today."
