The American Motel was presented with a flag appreciation certificate for its display of one of the largest American flags in the Denver metro region, according to a news release from the Mount Evans Chapter, Colorado Society, Sons of the American Revolution.

The American Motel is in Wheat Ridge, along I-70 near the Kipling exit. The certificate was awarded given Dec. 7.

Each year, the Mount Evans chapter awards flag appreication certificats to businesses, organizations and individuals who properly display te American flag.

“We are honored to recognize those who properly display the American flag,” Bob Haines, president, Mt. Evans Chapter, COSSAR, said in the news release. “Businesses, organizations and individuals should be noted for their patriotic display of the flag, especially when flown in a location highly visible to the public. The American Motel’s display of the American flag, in addition to being one of the largest flags in the area, sits along the highly travelled I-70 freeway where thousands of cars pass each day. It is a privilege to honor their example of patriotism to our country.”

The Mt. Evans Chapter represents those members of the Sons of the American Revolution living in the Denver metro area and is one of five Chapters in the Colorado Society.

Members, or compatriots, must document their lineage to someone who either served in or otherwise supported the Revolutionary War.
