The Lakewood High School Theatre Company proudly presents the American Musical classic, West Side Story. In collaboration with the Jeffco Schools Office of Equity and Diversity, the theatre and music departments combine to not only bring this classic story to life, but also to give voice to the Puerto Rican experience of migration to the mainland. With consult from the Office of Equity and Diversion, the performance will be accompanied by a display of Puerto Rican history and artifacts during intermission. The community is encourage to attend this inter-departmental effort to tell the modern story of Romeo and Juliet, and what happens in a world consumed by hate.
The show runs Wednesday, March 11 at 6 p.m., and Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 12, 13, and 14 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 for students and senior citizens, and $15 for adults. Tickets can be purchased online at our.show/lhswss or call the box office at 303-982-7123. All seats are reserved.
Lakewood High School, located at 9700 W 8th Avenue in Lakewood, prides itself on being a comprehensive high school with a strong performing arts program where students obtain and apply life skills while practicing empathy, risk taking, and acceptance.
