More than a dozen Orangetheory® Fitness (OTF) studios in communities across the Denver-Metro area are encouraging members to celebrate the power of will by creating their own “I Will” statements in the weeks leading up to the DRI TRI event, and challenging members to raise money and push their limits during the event to power life-changing breakthroughs for those with Muscular Dystrophy.
The DRI TRI is designed as a challenge for members of all abilities to push themselves to new levels, providing a measurable goal to gauge their progress and performance, with the added motivation of a little friendly competition and support of a good cause. Members can choose from one of the following challenges:
• A 2000m Row, 300 Reps of bodyweight exercises and a 5k Run or 1.5mile Walk.
• A Sprint consisting of a 1000m Row, 150 Reps and a 2.5k Run.
• A Team Relay event, where teams of 3 work together to complete the challenge.
“We are committed to giving more life back to the communities we serve and where our members live,” says Tim Johnson, Colorado OTF Area Developer. “The DRI TRI is the perfect opportunity for our studios to raise the bar and encourage our members to compete for a cause and to help someone with Muscular Dystrophy to fulfill a dream.”
Orangetheory® is a 1-hour, full body workout, focused on training endurance, strength, and power. We use heart-rate based interval training, which burns more calories post workout than traditional exercise. When wearing our exclusive OTbeat heart rate monitors, your real time results are displayed on large screens throughout the studio. Intensity is based on your individual heart rate zones, making the workout effective for all fitness levels. To top it off, our certified coaches lead the workout to prevent you from over or under training.
OTF More Life Initiative
As part of the national Orangetheory® More Life initiative, roughly 16 Orangetheory® Franchisees in the Denver-Metro area have collectively committed to giving back to the community where they work and live. The franchisees provide opportunities to participate in events like DRI TRI that raise money for local charitable organizations, foundations and nonprofits.
About Muscular Dystrophy Association Rocky Mountain
According to its website, MDA is leading the fight to free individuals — and the families who love them — from the harm of muscular dystrophy, ALS and related muscle-debilitating diseases that take away physical strength, independence and life. We use our collective strength to help kids and adults live longer and grow stronger by finding research breakthroughs across diseases; caring for individuals from day one; and empowering families with services and support in hometowns across America.
